Chocolette
The airy and delicate Chocolette shawl begins at the narrow tip and grows into a beautiful accent piece which can be made as small or large as you wish.
The design uses the simplest crochet stitches: single crochet (and its variations) and chains combined into three textured stitch patterns, which are fun and easy to make.
MATERIALS
- Yarn: Malabrigo Arroyo; sport weight; 335 yards / 306 m per 100 g skein; 100% Superwash Merino Wool
- Hook: U.S. 7 (4.5 mm)
- Yarn needle to weave in ends
YARDAGE
- The instructions are written for two sizes, which use 2 (3) skeins in shade Sand Bank (AR131).
GAUGE FOR SWATCH
- 20 sts and 16 rows = 4″ (10 cm) worked in ribbing st patt only, after blocking. An exact gauge is not crucial for this design.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Small (Large)
- Wingspan: 48½ (63)″ / 123 (160) cm
- Bottom edge: 28¾ (39¼)″ / 73 (100) cm
- Depth: 22 (28¾)″ / 56 (73) cm
The measurements listed above are only guidelines and you can make this shawl smaller or larger by working fewer or more row-PRs of the stitch pattern. Bear in mind that in this case, your yardage requirements and finished dimensions will change.
