Christina
Meet another “Metzbower Girl”! This is Christina, one of my younger sisters. She can be described as kind, gentle, a sweet friend, a chocolate hiding mother, and a giving sister. When I asked her what type of sweater she would pick for herself, she drew the sketch that became this cardigan. She has always loved earthy tones, and chose these colors from Knit Picks herself. Because she is a busy mother to many small children, we chose Swish since it is washable and sturdy.
The cardigan itself is knit as follows:
- back shoulders with short rows, worked through to the underarm join
- each front shoulder with short rows, worked through simultaneously through to the underarm join
- join back and fronts and begin waist shaping
- continue on to hip, working front rounded shaping with waist increases
- pick up and knit collarband, using short rows to create an awesome, foldable shawl collar
- pick up stitches around armholes and use short rows to create a sleeve cap
- finish working sleeve in the round, decreasing to wrist
