Christmas at Hogwarts Tree Skirt
While many Hogwarts students choose to go home for the holidays, those who decide to stay get to enjoy Hogwarts at its most magical. Twelve dazzling, massive Christmas trees grace the Great Hall, decorated by Professor Flitwick (as seen in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). Bewitched snow falls gently from the ceiling, and ghosts roam the corridors singing Christmas carols.
A perfect accessory to any holiday tree, this hexagonal tree skirt features motifs associated with a magical Christmas at Hogwarts, including owls, glittering stars, sparkling snowflakes, and enormous Christmas trees. The skirt is worked in one piece from the outside to the center with decreases worked along both edges of each wedge. A 2 x 2 ribbed border is worked around the entire skirt and is then divided into wedges separated by simple cables. The chart is worked within each wedge (CHART ONLY). At the top, the skirt is finished with a 1 x 1 ribbing and cable stitch border, then topped off with a sturdy three-stitch I-cord bind off. Beads are added with a small crochet hook as you go to give this tree skirt a little extra sparkle that Professor Flitwick would no doubt thoroughly approve of. Approx. 900 5/0 5.0 mm seed beads (550 silver-lined crystal and 350 silver-lined green).
