Christmas Bitsy Bears
The Bitsy Teddies are all set for winter fun and snowy adventures!
Bitsy Boy is snug in his Christmas sweater and couldn’t be prouder of his new hat and scarf—mini pompom and all!
Bitsy Girl is wrapped up in her new dress and cosy winter cloak, ready for a Christmas afternoon stroll.
The Bitsy Bears’ heads and bodies are knitted in one piece, using simple shaping—so it’s easy as can be!
You’ll knit the arms and legs separately and sew them on when you’re ready.
Bitsy Bear’s hat, Christmas sweater, and trousers are each knitted flat in single pieces from the top down, then seamed—nothing tricky here!
The dress and cloak are also knitted flat in one piece from the top down, with the dress seamed at the back. The cape’s front and hood edging are picked up and knitted after sewing up, for a neat finis
Bitsy Bear size-21cm /8.5” tall
Needle size-
Bitsy Bear and clothes -3.5mm (UK 10 /US 4)
Ribbing- 2.5mm (UK12 /US2)
Tension - 20sts x 26 rows = 10cm (4”) stst. Square
Recommended yarn: -
Stylecraft Special DK yarn
Or any Double Knit /Light Worsted yarn
Bear-Golden Yellow DK 20 g
Trousers- Deep brown 10g
Sweater and hat -Red 10g
Dress Red 10g and White 5g
Cape Red 20g and White 5g
You will also need-
Small amount of Black and White DK yarn
2 stitch holders
Toy stuffing
