This little knitted wreath takes its inspiration from some of the festive food and drink that I associate with Christmas. The core is a 20 cm / 8” flat backed polystyrene ring, covered with knitted strips to give a base to sew the decorations to.

Christmas Cheer is a series of seven linked patterns, published gradually in 2023. The patterns for the six sets of decorations will be published on alternate days at the start of December, starting on 1st December.

This first pattern gives measurements for the polystyrene wreath and instructions for knitting the strips to cover it. You will need about 50g of DK weight yarn for this. The decorations all use only small amounts of various colours.
