Christmas Sock is an addicted project and is all about colors and
symmetric shapes. You work toe-up and can end your sock whenever you like. Use the technique of afterthought heel to avoid interrupting the rhythm. Just mark out the perfect spot for a heel and continue the pattern to preferred shaft length. Then go back and finish the heel.
The circumference is adjustable regarding number of stitches. Knit as long socks as you like, in two-colors or in a mix-and-match-go-crazy style. There are two charts to mix and choose the look from. One with light background color and one with dark background color. You will use both charts and written instructions for project guidance.

Size: Shoe size 34/36-38/40-42/44 with foot circumference 20-22-24 cm.

Yarn: Fingering weight or sock yarn, 350-400m/100g
Yardage: Total yardage for two socks knitted in two colors is 320-360-390 m, divided into:
background color: 150-170-180 m (50-55-60 g)
contrast color: 170-190-210 m (55-60-65 g)

Gauge: 29 stitches in stockinette sts = 10 cm after blocking.
Gauge is affecting final measurements and yardage.

Needles: Circular needles or a set of double-pointed needles
(DPNs) in size 2.5-3.0 mm (or needle size needed to obtain gauge).

Extras: four markers, extra needles for working afterthought heel, one darning needle to weave in yarn ends, extra yarn to mark heel, tape measure
