Chrysanthemum
This afghan is one of the pieces in my collection titled: “How Does Your Garden Grow”. It was inspired by the beautiful, brightly colored chrysanthemums that we have in our garden every fall. It is a circular afghan worked from the center to the outer edge. Embossed leaves are knit in varying sizes, starting with small ones in the center and progressively larger ones as the afghan is worked. Color coded charts help the knitter keep track of which size leaf is being worked. “Chrysanthemum” is knit with a tonal Sock yarn held double throughout. The subtle shadings of the tonal yarn add depth to the piece. The wool/nylon blend makes it soft and warm. Yardages for a worsted weight version are also included in the pattern.
