Chrysanthemum, crochet flower necklace

Dreaming of summer in snowy Wisconsin, I came up with this flower necklace. The band has a simple square design. The chrysanthemum flower, while easy to make, will require some patience. It has thinner petals that curl in the middle, and thicker petals on the outmost layer. I used a small button for closure, but you can choose a hook or a snap instead. The flower covers the closure so it’s not visible.
Skill level: beginner to intermediate
Finished dimensions: total length about 15.5 inches, flower about 3 inches in diameter.
Yarn: 100% mercerized cotton (approximately 220m/50g or 240y/1.75oz), 1 ball white, mall amount of blue.
Hook: 1.75mm crochet hook
Other materials: 1 small button.
