Chrysler Hat
This hat was inspired by my favorite building in New York City, the Chrysler building! I have always admired its art deco architecture and how it stands out among all the other skyscrapers in the Manhattan skyline.
A combination of plain stockinette stitch, purl stitch, increases and decreases are used in this pattern, chosen for their resemblance to the “dome” of the Chrysler building. The sequence of this stitch pattern is easy to memorize, resulting in a meditative and engaging knit!
Needle: Size 3.5mm/US 4 circular needles or DPNs for the ribbing. Size 3.75mm/US 5 circular needles or DPNs for the body of the hat.
