The Chunky Spiral beanie and slouchy use knit and purl stitches to create tons of texture. Worked up from the brim, this unisex hat finishes with an exuberant (and easy!) gathered crown of soft pleats.

NOTES
1. Sample hats are knit in Kraemer Perfection Chunky in Purr and Malabrigo Chunky in Lettuce.
2. Chunky yarns vary widely in thickness and suggested gauges. For best stitch definition, use a “heavy” chunky yarn with a suggested gauge of 12 to 14 stitches = 4 in/10 cm.
3. A “buffer” of 10% has been added to yarn amounts.
