Cilla
The sweater is knitted from the top down.
It is worked back and forth across the shoulder section, with increases on every row on both sides of the shoulder stitches.
When the full shoulder width has been reached, the work is divided, and the back and front pieces are knitted separately down to the underarm, where they are joined. From this point, the body is knitted in the round.
The body is finished with a split rib hem.
Stitches are then picked up along the armholes, and the sleeves are knitted to the specified length and finished with a rib edge.
Finally, stitches are picked up for the rollneck, which is also worked in rib. When half of the neck has been completed, change to a larger needle to give the collar room to fold over.
The roll neck is finished with a roll edge in reverse stocking stitch.
