Cimiez is a seamless sweater, that the shoulder seams are placed on the back. The construction starts by working flat the back from top down to the base of the armholes. Then, stitches are picked up at the gentle shoulder slopes and each front is knitted separately until the base of the neckline then joined together. Once the front is the same length as the back, the back and the front of the sweater are joined and the body is worked in the round to the hem. Stitches are picked up along the neck, to work a ribbed collar (crew or funnel neck). Finally the stitches for the sleeves are picked up around each armhole and knitted in the round to the wrists and finished with ribbed cuffs.

Yarn & notions: This design is knitted with one strand of fingering and one strand of lace weight yarn held together. If you prefer you can use one strand of a DK weight yarn.

• 870 (900, 950, 1050, 1110) (1150, 1200, 1260, 1300) m / 951 (984, 1040, 1148, 1215) (1560, 1315, 1380, 1425) yards of each yarn or one strand of DK weight. Please keep in mind that yardage is an estimate.
• US 4 / 3.5 mm for the collar; US 5/ 3.75 mm and US 7/ 4.5 mm circular needles for the body and the sleeves.
• Stitch markers + 2 safety pins markers, stitch holders or scrap yarn, tapestry needle.

Cimiez est un pull intemporel grâce à son allure simple et épurée. Il se tricote du haut vers le bas sans couture avec une emmanchure tombante et une ligne d’épaule décalée vers l’arrière du dos. L’empiècement du dos tricoté en aller-retour est façonné par des augmentations. Puis des mailles sont relevées le long de chaque ligne d’augmentations pour travailler les épaules et chaque devant séparément jusqu’à la base de l’encolure. Les devants sont ensuite réunis et travaillés en aller-retour jusqu’au bas des emmanchures. Dos et devant sont ensuite assemblés pour travailler le corps en rond. Des mailles sont relevées le long de l’encolure afin de façonner le col (col double ras de cou ou col montant). Enfin, les mailles des manches sont relevées ; après quelques rangs raccourcis, elles sont travaillées en rond.
