Cinderella
This is a knitted stole with a crochet edge.
Language:English.
It is perfectly possible to work only a single row of crochet instead of the whole edge, but if you absolutely do not like crochet, don’t begin this, it won’t work without some sort of finish along the ruffled edge.
The Cinderella Stole was designed for a lofty mohair yarn and a heavier, shiny silk yarn. When substituting yarn, keep in mind that the drape and look of the stole depends upon one type of yarn being very lightweight and not shiny and a second being both heavier, limp, and to some extend shiny. You could use lighter weight silk (or other material) than the one used here, as long as you are able to keep gauge, particularly in the ruffled border.
Skill level: adventurous beginner to intermediate.
Yarn used
MC: Debbie Bliss Angel, 76% mohair, 24% silk, 219 yards (200 m) per 25g skein. The stole as shown was knit using 2.5 skeins or 548 yards (500 m) in the colour 15005 Beige
AND
CC: Handmaiden Fine Yarn Sea Silk, 70% silk, 30 % seacell, 437 yards (400 m) per 100g skein. The stole as shown was knit using one skein in the colour Spray.
If you want to make a larger stole, work more repeats as indicated in the pattern, and remember to buy more yarn.
Size: 63” or 160 cm long, with instructions for how to make it both longer and wider. Both is very easy.
Also needed: Stitch markers. Beads if you like. Directions for beading the edge is included. You will need approx. 16 g of size 8 beads.
