Cinnamon Stars
Wrap yourself in a soft, cosy cowl sprinkled with stars! Cinnamon Stars is a long tubular-style cowl which can be worn looped twice around the neck for protection from the elements, or draped in a single stylish loop.
The tubular construction means the fabric has no ‘wrong’ side, and provides added insulation. Traditional colourwork star motifs are arranged in close formation, a geometric twist on a classic.
Skills needed include a provisional cast on, knitting in the round, stranded colourwork, Kitchener Stitch or grafting, and working from a colourwork chart. Tips for swatching in the round, casting on, and Kitchener Stitch are included in the pattern.
Materials: 2 skeins of Manos del Uruguay Fino (70% merino, 30% silk; 490yds/448m per 100g skein) in ‘Ivory Letter-Opener’ (Colour A) and ‘Gilt’ (Colour B), or 392 yards / 358.5 metres of Colour A and 412 yards / 377 metres of Colour B in fingering-weight yarn.
You will also need a crochet hook and smooth waste yarn for the provisional cast on, a second circular needle for grafting, and stitch markers.
Sizing: One size, adjustable by working a different number of repeats. Finished measurements: 6.75”/17cm height, 51”/129.5cm circumference.
