Clair de Lune
Clair de Lune is the first in the Light Cycle Collection, inspired by the changing moods of light over a 24 hour period, and plays with the concept of light as both a wave and a particle, through the contrasting textures of each shawl.
This is a very relaxing knit which uses a simple mesh which flows into a rhythmic wave edging, allowing the yarn to do all the work.
Both sections can be extended to any size or yardage.
Beads can be added randomly to the mesh to add a hint of decadence.
Optional plain stockinette or garter section to begin with.
Written and charted, with pattern worked rows on the right side only.
Any weight from lace to DK can be used by adjusting needle size.
Suitable for adventurous beginners.
Please note I’ve added an update to the pattern which includes a transition row to create a more curving crescent shape, and is more forgiving if you forget to increase needles, as sometimes happens.. I’ve nicknamed the update New Moon, and will leave both copies up so you can choose which shape you prefer.
Many thanks to MadlaineYarn and Elegnad of http://www.madlaine.fr/ for the French translation.
