These beautiful and functional fingerless mitts nod to both fall and spring.

They are the perfect thing to put on when the weather turns cooler and you feel a slight chill creep up your arms. A farewell to summer.

The delicate lace leaf pattern on the other hand was inspired by spring. The first sprouts of climbing vines clambering up from the deep sleep of winter. The lace pattern travels the length of your arm from elbow to wrist, lending warmth while still looking airy and pretty.

Materials:

  • 1 skein of Knitlob Lair’s Tuulen Tytär or approx. 350y / 320 m of fingering weight yarn.
  • 3 mm / US 2.5 dpns or size to obtain gauge.
  • 2 stitch markers

The sample was knit using Knitlob Lair’s Tuulen Tytär (100% merino, 437y / 400m per 100g) in Valaan laulu.

Gauge:
25 sts x 36 rows = 4” x 4” in stockinette stitch in the round after blocking.

Notes:
The sleeves are knit in the round from elbow to wrist.
The pattern is written for dpns, but it can also be knit using circular needles if that is your preferred method for knitting in the round.
