This PDF pattern describes in US terms how to crochet a classic dump truck amigurumi, as shown in pictures, including all parts. Finished size will be approx. 7,9” (20 cm) long, 5.9” (15 cm) tall, 5.1” (13 cm) wide, crocheted using sport weight cotton yarn, with hook size C (2,5 mm).
This pattern is also suitable for wool or acryllic yarn. The truck in the pictures was made using cotton yarn by SMC - Schachenmayr Catania.

If you wish to make a larger or smaller version of this amigurumi, you can just use a heavier or lighter weight of yarn and a matching size crochet hook. In this case, you will need different amounts of yarn and different sized buttons and plastic canvas, than stated in the materials list.

Gauge: is not important for this pattern, just crochet tight enough so the stuffing will not show through the stitches.

Skill level: intermediate / experienced (for crocheting, as well as for joining / pinning / sewing parts together)

Materials used:

  • Crochet hook size C (2,5 mm)
  • Yarn in teal (approx. 60 gr, 150 m / 165 yds), grey (approx. 10 gr, 25 m / 28 yds), dark brown (approx. 70 gr, 175 m / 192 yds), black (approx. 20 gr, 50 m / 55 yds), small amount of orange
