The motif used in this scarf brings to mind gently falling snowflakes on a crisp, frosty winter’s day. Although the air outside might be nipping at your nose, wrap this scarf around your neck and you’ll be toasty warm. The open laciness of the motif means the scarf will still be perfect for cool spring days or in over-air-conditioned rooms in the summer. Make this scarf in a colorful yarn and the motif will have you thinking of a beautiful floral garden.

The open, airy look of this scarf is achieved by two things: 1) using a larger size crochet hook than you might normally use with this weight yarn and 2) choosing a yarn that has no stretch. The chosen yarn works wonderfully to bring out the full laciness of this pattern.

All Long Island Livestock patterns are free with the purchase of the yarn to make them. LI Livestock yarn is sold at yarn shows such as Vogue Knitting Live, and is occasionally available on our website lilivestockco.com. Sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date on the shows we are attending and the website updates. You can also call us and we are happy to send pictures of our current stock.
