A light and airy tank top that is perfect to wear as a springtime layer or through the summer months. The Clear Skies Tank combines easy-to-remember eyelet patterns with stockinette stitch for a quick and easy project.

Designed to be worn with -1.5 to +1.5”/-4 to +4 cm at the widest part of the chest. If you fall between sizes, it’s best to size down to ensure a nice snug fit. Sample is a size 6 modeled with 0”/0 cm ease.

Yarn: Ewe Ewe Yarns, Fluffy Fingering, 200 yards per 50g skein,
100% merino wool yarn, #1 fingering weight

Needles:
US 6 / 4 mm, 24-40” / 60-100 cm circular needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Additional gauge size needles in your preferred method for knitting flat – 2 double-pointed needles, straight needles, or a shorter circular needle – for the straps

Supplies: 1 stitch marker for BOR, 8 locking markers for marking strap pick up locations and buttons (2 unique for BOR and side seam), tapestry needle, blocking pins or wires, 2 - 1/2” / 12.5 mm buttons, thread and sewing needle to attach buttons

Gauge:
• Before blocking: 25 sts and 38 rows to 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch worked in the round.
• After blocking: 23 sts and 35 rows to 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch worked in the round.

The body of the tank top is worked from the bottom up in the round. Once the body is complete, straps are picked up and knit into the bind off edge of the top ribbing and worked to length. Instructions for customizing the length of the straps are provided.
Instructions for the smallest size, size 1, is provided first, with instructions for all additional sizes in parentheses/brackets. Please take note of your position within the parentheses and be sure to follow this throughout. If only one set of numbers is provided, it applies to all sizes.

If you choose to add length to your tank body, add it evenly in the stockinette stitch sections at the top (Panel 1) and bottom (Panel 5) of the tank. For example, to add approximately 1” / 2.5 cm length, knit 8 additional rounds: 4 in Panel 1 and 4 in Panel 5. Please note that additional yardage will be required to add length.

If you add length to your straps, please note that additional yardage may be required. The length provided for in this pattern is 13.5” / 34.5 cm before the buttonhole row.

The quantity of yarn provided does not include a quantity for swatching. You may wish to purchase an additional skein, or be prepared to unravel and reuse the yarn from your swatch to complete your project.
