Inspiration:
Mariposa Yarn is new to me, but when asked to design something in silk, one never says “No”. This fiber is very versatile. Mariposa silk is spun from cocoon waste, thus making it less shiny and slippery; all the things we may not necessarily love about knitting with silk this yarn corrects. I enjoyed working with this fiber very much, and the drape of the finished fabric makes this yarn perfect for this summer/spring poncho.

The colour work section is ever inspired by the climbing plant called “Clematis” thus the name. This design honours this beautiful plant.

My poncho creation is wonderful for cooler summer and spring evenings. It looks amazing over a simple linen dress or casual pants, a wearable accessory, flattering from every angle and never boring to knit.

Sizing: S/M and L/XL
Bust: 63 in/159.5 cm and 78.5 in/199cm.

Gauge:
26 st/22 rows – 10 cm/4”, in charted colorwork pattern, in the round, washed and blocked.
