Climbing Diamonds Wrap
I was delighted to be asked to design a wrap with the new Festival Aran yarn from Cygnet. The colors are just so pretty, and I soon discovered it is also beautifully soft and makes such a snuggly wrap I almost didn’t want to part with it!
Method:
The Climbing Diamonds Wrap is a rectangular shawl knitted in one piece and worked flat throughout.
It begins with a garter stitch eyelet border on the short side of the rectangle followed by easy-to-work mirrored lace borders running down the length. Brioche selvedge stitches provide a simple and neat non-rolling edge. It ends with a matching garter stitch eyelet border.
Both written instructions and charts are provided for the lace borders.
Size:
Directions are given for one size, but this is easily adjusted. To make your wrap longer/ shorter work more/ less repeats of Climbing Diamonds Lace Pattern than instructed; to make your wrap wider/ narrower cast on more/ less stitches and increase/ decrease the number of stitches between markers on Row 10. Please note the number of stitches must remain an odd number for the eyelets to line up correctly with the top and bottom borders.
Yarn:
This pattern was designed to showcase the beautiful new Festival yarn from Cygnet.
You can use any Aran yarn that you like and with which you can get tension/ gauge.
The wrap pictured used two balls of Cygnet Festival:
