Cloudfall
Caron Cloud Cakes Perfect Phasing Yarn – with its’ long, slow color changes and truly soft and plushy feel – knits up light and airy despite being a worsted weight yarn. Combined with my absolute favorite easy-going and universally flattering sweater silhouette, this has become a staple in my wardrobe rotation. With just a little yarn manipulation (so worth it!) we can maintain a continuous gradient effect from the light coloring at the shoulders progressing beautifully to the darker coloring approaching the lower hem.
Cloudfall is knit seamlessly from top to bottom. Knitting begins with back shoulders worked back and forth with short rows to underarms before putting stitches on a holder. Stitches are then picked up for front shoulders and worked back and forth with short rows to shape the neck, then worked to underarms where front and back are joined and worked in rounds down to lower hem. Sleeves are then picked up directly from the body and worked in rounds down to the cuffs.
