“He that has a good harvest, must be content with some thistles.” -Spanish Proverb
Despite its prickly exterior, the thistle is symbolic of protection and survival. It is said that around the 11th century, an invading army planned a night attack against the Scots, but were given away when one of the enemies stepped on a thistle letting out a loud yelp and alerting the sleeping Scots. After that, the thistle was adopted as the’ national emblem of Scotland.
The pattern includes written instructions for toe up construction with two needles using the Magic Loop method but any circular knitting method can be used. Instructions are given for a short row toe and heel.
This pattern has been professionally tech edited.
