Coal Tit
With more muted feathers than its relatives, the coal tit often steals its food away to eat at a later date. The Coal Tit is included in my British Birds knitting pattern, which also has a Blue Tit, Robin, Blackbird and Bullfinch.
NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 4)
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; one 100g/280m skein in each colour
NOTIONS
Toy filling
Toy safety eyes
Tapestry needle
SIZES
One size only - each is 15cm long from top of head to tip of tail.
TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, intarsia colour-work, and seaming to finish.
