Coastline Hexie Beach Bag Pattern

Summer is here and this project is worthy of sandy coastlines and sun dried driftwood. I gravitated towards these colours because I’m craving all the beach vibes right now—living in the midst of some of the biggest lakes in the world means I’m surrounded by water (literally!) and it’s apart of my soul. For those who know me or who’ve been following from the beginning…you know that I’m a lover of the water and sailing. This bag was designed to be used as my new sailing tote! It’s the perfect carry all for those summer trips to the beach, market or weekends away.

I truly hope you enjoy this relaxing make. With a smaller selection of colours, no colour changes and motifs that are packable—this project promises to be the bring-a-long staple. Join them all up later with a continuous join as you go for hexagons and you’ve got yourself the perfect project to ring in the summer with. Happy Crocheting :)

This pattern is worked up using the large sunburst hexagon.

The pattern uses WeCrochet (Knit Picks) Dishie Cotton Worsted (190yds/100g) and a 5mm hook (size H).
Pattern includes all colours used and the yarn quantities as well as exact positioning. My gift to you is taking the work out of colourwork!

Bag size: Approximately 17”x 23” inches (not including handles).

Pattern will include:

  • yarn amounts/quantities.
  • yarn colours/colour legend
  • yarn links/alternative suggestions
  • stitch glossary.
  • printable pdf of bag schematic.
  • full colour chart of all sunbursts and their positioning so you can make this EXACT colour copy!
  • full written instruction for the hexagon used (large sunburst hexie).
  • written and video tutorial for joining sunbursts (continuous join as you go), making handles, and seaming bag.

Happy Crocheting Everyone!
