Coccole d’Inverno is a bottom-up sweater worked in the round to the armholes, then you will work on half the number of the stitches for the front and the back. Afterwards you’ll use a three needle bind off on the shoulder. At this point you’ll pick up stitches for knitting in the round the sleeves. There are cables on the front and the back of the sweater to underline the waist point. The sleeves are wide for a kimono look.

After I’ve finished my sweater Rachele (my daughter) asked me if I could knit one for her with some customized modifications: garter stitch borders instead of ribbing, a longer body, not so wide sleeves and a closer neckline. I’ve written all the mods at the end of the pattern, in the case you want to make them as well.

Yarn: Merino Big, Tre Sfere, 100% Wool, 100 grams, 80 meters
S(M, L, XL): 6(7, 8. 9) skeins
Notions: tapestry needle to weave in ends, 1 stitch marker for the beginning of the round, cable needle
Needles: Circular knitting needles with 12 mm points
Gauge: 8 stitches x 14 rows in 10 x 10 cm stockinette stitch

Coccole d’Inverno è un maglione lavorato dal basso verso l’alto in tondo sino a quando bisogna separare il davanti e dietro, poi riuniti sul punto spalla con la chiusura con tre ferri. Poi si riprendono le maglie per le maniche, lavorate in tondo. Con una coppia di trecce sul davanti e sul dietro, che sancrano leggermente il corpo della maglia. Maniche larghe a kimono per un effetto scenografico.

Dopo aver realizzato il mio maglione, Rachele (mia figlia) ne ha voluto uno tutto per se con delle modifiche personalizzate: bordi a legaccio invece che a coste, corpo più lungo, manica meno ampia e scollo più stretto. Li spiego nel dettaglio in fondo alle istruzioni, per poter realizzare anche questa versione.

Accessori: ago da lana per nascondere le codine, 1 marca punto m d’inizio giro, ferro ausiliare per trecce
Ferri: ferri circolari con punte da 12 mm
Tensione: 8 maglie x 14 righe in 10 x 10 cm a maglia rasata
