The pdf contains two sets of instructions: one for a cowl/eternity scarf and one for a shawlette.

Cocoon Me is a set of wonderfully textured accessories using a cocoon stitch that looks interesting on both sides and is especially snuggly worked in a single-ply merino yarn. You might not undergo a metamorphosis when you wear these pieces, but you will feel cozy. The eternity scarf or cowl is worked in the round inside-out, while the crescent shawlette is worked top-down.

Samples are shown in worsted weight yarn, but any weight yarn may be used. If changing yarn, adjust yardage accordingly. The size of each piece is easily changed by working more or less repeats of the cocoon pattern.

Skill level: Intermediate. Both written and charted instructions are provided. Special stitches: p5tog, k1-p1-k1 in same stitch, k-yo-k in same stitch (shawlette only).

  1. The kyok in the Shawlette Set-Up rows should read as k-yo-k.
  2. The stitch count at the end of the first Shawlette Set-Up row should be 11 (not 9).
These are corrected in versions downloaded after 3/26/11.
