Construction

The Coffee Run Collar is cast on at the back hem and knit in one piece to the collar edge. Neckline shaping is worked separately for each side and joined at the front. The front is then worked flat, ending with a ribbed hem. Neckline stitches are picked up and knit to the desired length. This pattern is written for one size.

Techniques Used In This Pattern

Alternating cable cast on, slipping stitches, increases and decreases, backwards loop cast on, picking up stitches, tubular bind off.

Yarn

This pattern calls for one strand of fingering weight yarn held with one strand lace weight yarn for the main fabric. The hems and collar are knit with fingering weight yarn held double.

Alternatively, the entire pattern could be worked with DK weight yarn. Suggested yardage for this option is listed below. I recommend knitting and blocking a swatch to ensure your yarn choice meets gauge and you’re happy with the finished fabric.

Yarn A
Sonder Yarn Co. ‘Sunday Morning 4 Ply,’
(75% BFL / 25% Masham, 432 yds / 100 g)
Shown in colorway ‘Sanctuary’

Two skeins or 685 yds / 626 m of a comparable fingering weight yarn

Yarn B
Sonder Yarn Co. ‘Halo,’
(72% Mohair / 28% Silk, 459 yds / 100 g)
Shown in colorway ‘Cathedrale’

One skein or 385 yds / 352 m of a comparable lace weight yarn.

To use DK weight yarn throughout the pattern (in place of Yarns A & B): Approximately 535 yds / 489 m of DK weight yarn
