Graphic, rhythmic cables adorn the back of this cozy shawl-collared cardigan, which is packed with knitterly details and ready to be an essential part of your fall and winter wardrobe. The front and sleeves are worked in stockinette, making for a lighter, more free-flowing fabric on those parts of the sweater while concentrating both the physical heft and visual impact on the back. Arranged this way, the cables don’t overwhelm your body, and the front of the sweater has a clean, simple, almost sporty look. The cables themselves are made up of a succession of 2x2 crosses, which help the fabric drape gracefully and add visual interest without bulk. Thoughtful touches like tailored shoulders, inset pockets, and a ready-to-wear-inspired shawl collar finish the look, while Hudson’s Merino-Yak blend adds effortless drape and beautiful hand to the final fabric. Cold Spring is worked from the bottom up in pieces and seamed, with charted and written instructions provided for the cables.
