This filet crochet table runner begins with a leaf motif in the center extending into a tessellation of leaves, framed by vines of leaves for texture, and surrounded by a leafy border ending with tassels. The runner is worked in back and forth rows from the center out. It is part of the Collage of Leaves Table Set pattern which also includes a Placemat, Short Table Runner and Antimacassar/Centerpiece.

Detailed instructions are included in the pattern, with a filet chart added for reference.

The filet crochet technique is akin to crocheting a piece of graph paper with some of the square grids filled in and some left open (or blank) to create an overall design. If you’d like to learn filet crochet, check out my YouTube tutorial: Filet Crochet: Learning the Stitches & a Few Extras!
