Color Theory was originally designed for hand-spun yarn from a painted braid to be used for the yoke.

The sample used Greenwood Dye Company 100% superfine merino, 4 oz spun worsted to 240 yds/219m per 4 oz/114g. The model is size S and one skein was enough.

Test knitters used Malabrigo Rios: 140 -477 yds/127-435m) for the yoke.

Body and sleeves use about 762 -1525 yds/696-1393m.

The yoke is knit flat using garter stitch. Wrap and turn short rows create wedges so the yoke forms a circle. The circle is joined and the body and sleeves are picked up from the outer edge of the yoke.

This pattern is very amenable to variegated yarns and hand-spun for the yoke and a monochromatic worsted weight yarn for the body and sleeves. It is easy and fun to knit.
