You know how there are those yarns that remind you of a moment in time much like a photograph?

While winding this skein of hand dyed merino and silk I thought about my travels and the many waterways I have seen coast to coast. The name of this cowl is derived from one of my western adventures because of the way this incredibly soft yarn caught the light as it flowed from cake to hook and onto my project. It reminded me of the Colorado River. As the water gently cascades down the path it has artfully carved in the Colorado River Basin it catches the light as it reaches different depths, speeds and impediments along its way to the Gulf of California in northwest Mexico so too does this yarn as it transitions from cake to hook and to finished object.
