Make your very own terror in the tub!

For this pattern, you need knowledge of both knitting and crocheting.

The squid’s body has a hemmed edge at the bottom and then is knit straight and bound off. Single crochet stitches are then picked up from the bound off edge and used as a visual divider between the squid’s sections.

After the single crochet divider, stitches are picked up and knit in a taper, creating the top section of the squid.

The tentacles and fins are worked in single crochet.

For this pattern you will need:

Needles: US 9 (5.5 mm) 16-inch circular needle; US 9 double-point needles, set of 5
Crochet Hook: I/9 (5.5 mm) (Using a hook this size creates a crochet fabric that has a bit of drape. Use a smaller hook if you prefer a stiffer, denser crochet fabric.)
Gauge: 15 stitches and 24 rows=4 inches in stockinette stitch (NOTE: It isn’t crucial that you get exact gauge in this pattern.)
Notions: Darning needle, 1 piece black felt, 1 piece white felt, 1-2 20 oz. bags Poly-fil, 12x12 square of black fleece, thread, sewing needle
Yarn: 2 Jumbo-sized skeins (16 oz each) Red Heart Super Saver (Claret colorway is used in the sample)
