I decided to try out if I could produce a pattern which would result in a baby’s hat that I would be proud to gift to a friend. It’s a fairly simple baby’s hat, knit in the round from the bottom up. Garter stitch stripes add visual and textural interest that don’t clash with the hand dyed colourways of the main and contrast colours.

A finished hat will weight around 20g in total (so about 10 g of each colour), so it’s good for using up partial or miniature skeins. It also works up quickly, so it’s a satisfying knit.

The pattern is currently only in Finnish, but please contact me if you would like an English translation.
