The Column beanie features a timeless
cable pattern that flows seamlessly from
a structured brim, giving the design
both texture and elegance. The cables
add a classic touch without being overly complex,
making the hat engaging to knit and easy to wear.
The beanie begins with a neat, stretchy
Tubular Cast-On (or Long-Tail, if you prefer),
followed by 2x2 ribbing that transitions
smoothly into the cable motif. You can choose
between a short brim for a classic look, or a
longer brim that can be folded double for extra
warmth and comfort.

When knit in a single strand of DK-weight
yarn, the cables stand out with crisp definition.
Fingering-weight yarn held with mohair, suri
alpaca, or cashmere lends a soft halo and touch of
luxury. Finish with a simple crown for a refined
style or add a pompom for a playful twist. Either
way, the result is a cozy, versatile beanie.
