Compass Cowl
When teen daughter and I went to England last summer, I found that I was always just a bit chilly … whether we were on the plane … train or just walking about. Smarter-than-I teen daughter had a cowl with her that I would try and borrow … but she used more than I did.
For my trip to England next summer with dh, I thought I’d come prepared and so this cowl was next off my needles for our anniversary trip.
This cowl is worked in the round on long circs to ensure a full, cozy cowl that can be pulled up to make a hood. I designed this for wearing on the plane … train … walking … or just sitting in a non-central heated B&B.
Knit in sock yarn (sample was knit in Plymouth’s Sockotta, a 45% cotton, 40% superwash wool, 15% nylon), this cowl is a perfect just-about-year-round accessory and one you’ll want to pack on your next trip!
Directions are written and charted.
NOTE: while this sample was knitted with now-discontinued Sockotta, any superwash sock yarn will work. A solid would make the lace “compass” design really pop. In the variegated, I like that the “compass” is understated but still visible!
