This “CONFETTI” crochet hood will be liked by those who:

  1. Want to keep their head warm, but don’t like tight beanies
  2. Love hoods but hate if they are heavy
  3. Would love to wear hoods more often but that they don’t fall off in the windy weather
  4. During frosts, first of all, want to keep their neck warm
  5. Want to be able to insulate the neck tightly and open it easily

Crochet pattern includes:
• Hook and yarn suggestions
• Crochet abbreviations in standard U. S. terms
• Gauge
• Written pattern

Size
Height (lay flat, including the width of the scarf part) – 14.6 in (37 cm).
Depth (at deepest point) – 9.5 in (24 cm).
The length of each half of the scarf – 19.7 in (50 cm).
The width of the scarf – 2.6 in (6.5 cm).

Yarn: 2 skeins of Hedgehogfibres Tweedy yarn - Color Soot, 50% Falkland Merino wool,
37.5% Recycled wool, 12.5% Hedgehogfibres hand-dyed thread waste or 200 g (7 oz) / 640 m (700 yd) DK/Light yarn weight. I used the full two skeins of yarn. So, if you plan to make your hood deeper or scarf longer/wider, please be sure you have enough yarn. The soft, cozy yarn combined with the functionality has made this hood one of my favorite pieces for winter/fall/early spring.
Hook: 3.5 mm, or size needed to obtain gauge.
1 button 1.2 in (3 cm) diameter, needle to sew the button, scissors, tape measuring are also needed.

Gauge: 18 dc x 11 rows = 4x4 in (10x10 cm).
Stitches used: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, picot, popcorn, back post single and double crochet, front post double crochet.
