Contemplation
Re-interpreted from Sirdar leaflet No. 171 Contemplation. The original pattern was written for only one size, approx. 34” bust. No tension was given. All pieces were knit flat and shaping was done by changing needle size. This interpretation begins with the body knitted in the round from the bottom up, with short rows to shape the shoulders and topdown set in sleeves worked with short rows. Changing needle size shapes the waist and sleeves. The division of the fronts is worked a little higher to account for today’s higher bust lines. The Offset Rib pattern is very stretchy and the finished garment gives a figure-hugging fit.
