The Story
This slouchy beanie is born out of my new found love of brioche. I love the shaping created by simple increases and decreases and the added visual complexity (though not-so to knit) of two colors.

While the pattern may look somewhat chaotic at first blush, as you delve further into the pattern you see that there’s actually a great deal of logic and control to the design.

Materials

• Ewe Ewe Yarns Wooly Worsted (worsted weight; 100% superwash merino wool; 95 yds / 50g skein) 1 skein each of: Wheat (Color A, Ewe Ewe Yarns Color 92); Aquamarine (Color B, Ewe Ewe Yarns Color 70); Orange Peel (Color C, Ewe Ewe Yarns Color 25)
• US 6 (4mm) 16” circular needle (or DPNs)
• US 8 (5mm) 16“ circular needle (AND DPNs)
• Stitch Marker

Notes

• This hat is constructed in the round, from the brim up. A two-color cable cast-on is used to begin the hat and then is worked in brioche up through the grown of the hat.

• Use circular needles for the construction of the hat until the circumference becomes too small; at this point switch to DPNs (or you may use DPNs for the entirety of the project).

• This project uses the entire skein of Color B. To swatch it is recommended to use Color A.
