Simple pattern repeats make this picturesque crescent shaped shawl as beautiful to knit as the coastline itself, with continuous waves pounding against the cliffs and rocky coast sending sprays of saltwater into the air. The water pattern repeat throughout the body continues evenly, until reaching the knitted on lace edge of the crashing waves. If you listen quietly you’ll hear the water in the distance and taste the salt in the air!

Cornwall Coast is knit top-down with increases done every row to create the shaping. Any light fingering to fingering weight yarn can be used. You can also experiment by using lace weight or a heavier DK weight if you choose. The yarn I used was Lorna’s Laces A River Runs Through It, their homage to Brad Pitt! And what a lovely colorway it is. I don’t think it is available anymore but this design favors a tonal or softly verigated yarn with colors in the same family. Have fun experimenting using different yarns and colors!

17.5 inches down the center back and 42 inches from the bottom of the center back to each tip
