The Cosy Country Advent Scarf celebrates crochet, advent yarn, and that feeling you get when you wrap a new scarf around your neck on a chilly day.

This pattern is designed to make a scarf using a yarn advent calendar comprised of any of the following (all in fingering weight/4ply yarn):

  • 24 X 10g or 20g mini-skeins (40m, 0.35oz/43yd) and 1 X 100g/400m skein (3.5oz/437yd)

  • 24 X 20g mini-skeins (80m, 0.7oz/87yd) and 1 X 100g/400m skein (3.5oz/437yd)*

  • 12 X 20g mini skeins (80m, 0.7oz/87yd) and 1 X 100g/400m skein (3.5oz/437yd).

  • Scrap yarn and 1 X 100g/400m skein (3.5oz/437yd)

  • Note that if you use 24 X 20g mini skeins, you will have approximately half of each mini left over at the end.

The photographed example is made using Louie & Lola Yarn’s 2022 Cosy Country advent calendar. 24 X 20g/80m mini-skeins (0.7oz/87yd) and 1 X 100g/400m skein (3.5oz/437yd), 70% superwash merino, 20% yak, 10% nylon.

Besides a few set-up and finishing rows, there are only 2 rows to memorise in this pattern, making it the perfect relaxing project for a busy time of year!

The finished dimensions of the scarf will be approximately 200cm/80in X 20cm/8in.
