A tour de force that is a tribute to Dee Hardwicke’s amazing swatching practice.
This throw is worked back and forth in rows. There are 6 separate panels, three colors per panel. The chart is identical for all 6 panels. The panels are sewn together and narrow borders are picked up and worked in seed stitch.
Knitted Measurements
Panel: Approx 11.75” wide x 20.75” long (30 x 52.5 cm)
Throw: Approx 35.25” wide x 43” long (89.5 x 109 cm)
Materials
—Atlas by Modern Daily Knitting 2 oz (57g) skeins, each approx 145 yds (132.5 m), 100% Rambouillet wool: 3 skeins Seaglass, 2 skeins each Peat and Shale, 1 skein each Barn Red, Cork, Leek, Natural, Navy, Pear, Truffle, Tutu, and Whisper.
—Size US 6 (4 mm) circular needle 40” (100 cm) long or longer, or size needed to achieve gauge
—Size US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle 40” (100 cm) or longer
Gauge
22 sts and 27.5 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in stranded st st using larger needle, blocked
Note: It is important to match the given gauge to ensure you will have enough Navy, Truffle, Cork and Whisper to complete the throw.
