Counterpane Blocks, A, B, and C
On pages 44-46 of the pamphlet, published in 1918.
A .pdf of the entire pamphlet is available at the Antique Pattern Library.
Pattern calls for No. 8 knitting cotton and five steel knitting needles No. 10. The instructions are for 3 blocks, labeled A, B, and C.
“Block A is started in the centre and knit around; three sides are bound off and Block B is knit in rows across the fourth side. A Counterpane may be made entirely of Block A, instead of alternating with Block B; then all four sides are bound off. Block C is another choice for alternating with Block A. Block C is started in the center and bound off on four sides.”
Pattern does not have a picture or illustration in the pamphlet.
