I am blessed to live in the amazing far northwest of British Columbia, Canada, with spectacular landscapes, mountain hiking trails, the most scenic surroundings and world class fishing. In the middle of our town is the gorgeous Hudson Bay Mountain with its beautiful glacier and stunning twin waterfalls. This outdoor lifestyle and our mountain are the inspiration for this lovely Cowl.

Method Crochet - US Terms

Skill Level Easy – Adventurous to Advanced Beginner – knowledge of basic stitches needed as well as working in Front loop only. ( beginners can substitute a regular sc for the FLO sc if wished or not comfortable.

Hooks 8 mm hook (metric)

Other Stitch marker 2 one-inch buttons (optional)
Yarn Needle

Measurement 31 inches circumference x 5 inches height – unblocked for medium adult/ teen size

Yarn 1 ball Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Stripes – Super Chunky / Bulky – Weight 6 – 140g/ 87 yd / 80 m per ball. Color – 610 Hudson Bay – Washable - Wool / Acrylic Blend
** with my tension – as tensions vary, you may need additional yarn, as I had only 4grams left over.

Gauge 4” x 4” = 10 sts across x 8 pattern rows high

Multiple to Adjust width, it is an odd number of stitches or multiple of 3 +2 (plus 1 for turn)

You can use any color your heart desires for this lovely Cowl – you are only limited by your imagination!

It is done in Super Bulky #6 Weight Acrylic Washable Yarn. If you wish to substitute yarn/ wool, I find YarnSub.com super helpful to determine the appropriate comparable yarn/wool weight and yardage!

This Cowl is worked flat in back and forth rows, then sewn/seamed together to form the cowl.

Directions are for Adult / Teen - Average. Measurement is 31 inches circumference and 5 inches in height/width laid flat before joining.
