Cowl with Optional Drawstring and Trim
One day a decade ago, when I was a proofreader with a long commute, I wore a sheer blouse and a light blazer to the office so I could leave straight from it for a fancy date. By lunch, the weather had turned for the worse, so I borrowed yarn and needles from my work in progress and, during my downtime, knit a loose turtleneck dickey based on the traditional Icelandic yoked (Lopi) sweater. It was the first prototype of my cowl. -- description from Loop-d-Loop, pg. 21 (pattern on pg. 42)
Note on Yarn Requirements: If using Naturespun or a similar worsted-weight yarn, use yarn double-stranded throughout; if using Kashair or a similar super-bulky yarn, use a single strand throughout. One ball of a Jaeger Fur, used as a single strand, is required for the optional furry trim.
Other Materials: 1 yd lacing or ribbon 0.25-0.75" wide
