For the cowl and crochet lovers we’ve put our heads together and come up with Cowley. A generous, wrappable cowl in a lovely, slightly different stitch to Collafirth.

Tension - 2 pattern repeats (10 sts) and 2 ‘shells’ (3 rows) measure approximately 9.5cm(3¾”) wide and 5.5cm(2”) deep on 5mm hook. We’ve given the tension over slightly ‘unusual’ measurements as it’s far easier to count stitches and rows and measure them than it is to count the number of stitches in a given area.

Yarn - the lovely, lovely Artesano Aran, for which we are very grateful to Artesano providing free for us. It is soft, utterly next-to-the-skin wearable and washes well.

3 x 100g hanks, shown in Lomond, shade 5083. We used up all bar a couple of metres of yarn.

Note: ALL crochet terms used are British. (The clue is in our name!)
