Cowpoke
Cowpoke is a cosy bandana that is great for newer lace knitters and makes a quick unisex gift. Cowpoke features a fir tree motif and a purl ridgeline, and is worked first top-down in the round and then the point of the bandana is worked flat.
Cowpoke uses double-knitting (DK) weight yarn that works to around 22 sts per 4 in/10 cm on the ballband, or in a fingering weight yarn held double-stranded. The grey sample shown uses Berroco Ultra Wool DK and the blue one uses Holst Garn Coast held double. (Note on yardage: you need 235 y/215 m if using a DK weight and 470 y/430 m if using fingering held doubled.)
Cowpoke’s lace stitches are offered in chart form as well as written out line-by-line. Please note: there is one row when the knitting changes from being worked in the round to working flat that is only written out. It is clearly explained in the instructions.
This pattern has been test-knit and professionally tech edited.
