This versatile cowlette is a hybrid between a shawl and a cowl. It begins as a top-down triangle shawl and changes into a cowl with joined rounds near the end, keeping it in place on your shoulders! Made with super fine weight (sock) yarn, it has fabulous drape and just the right amount of warmth!

The easy to memorize 2-row repeat makes it a quick and enjoyable project!

The pattern includes written instructions for both the one-color and two-color cowlettes, front, back and edging photos, as well as 2 symbol crochet charts for the one-color cowlette. Also included are written instructions and a photo tutorial for working the optional bead picots on the last round of the one-color cowlette.

For the two-color version, I used a size F (3.75mm) hook and a portion of 2 skeins of Loops & Threads Woolike yarn from my local Michaels store. This yarn is 85% acrylic and 15% nylon, has 678 yards and costs just $3 (unless you use a discount coupon and get it for even less)! With this many yards, you can make 2 cowlettes with just 2 skeins total! This yarn has lots of bounce, too! Of course, you can use any yarn of the same weight that you desire for your cowlette!

For the one-color version, I used a size G (4.0mm) hook and about 400 yards of a generic acrylic yarn that I purchased at the Knit & Crochet Show several years ago. I added some tiny beads that I had in my stash to the bottom edge.
