Crazy Cape
The Crazy Cape is all about building a wearable shape with modular triangles.
Starting with a small triangle and doubling the size of each layer of stacking triangles until the back is reached.
It takes two stacks of triangles to create the Cape.
Working with a yarn with a long striping pattern to create the movement of colour the knitting is very easy and the only sewing required is in the joining of the two pieces along the back seam – this is a fun and fascinating way to create a very wearable garment.
The edge of each piece is finished with two rounds of a contrasting colour single crochet before the back pieces are sewn together.
Each Layer of triangles has it own schematic and there is a full size schematic for the finished cape.
1200m, 1320 yds of fingering for the body and approx 70m, 80 yds of fingering for the finishing; sample as shown was knit with Zauberball 100 and finished with La Jolla;
