Size: 4 but can be made larger using larger crochet hooks

Materials: 4-ply yarn: 2 oz. each red, peacock green and black, 1 oz. periwinkle, small amounts of various colors

Crochet hook: Size G/6 (size H/8 for size 6, J/10 for size 8)

9 various colors 19mm buttons

Tapestry needle

Gauge: 4 sc = 1 inch; 4 sc rows = 1 inch

This is a great pattern for using up scraps. The pattern suggests putting each scrap of yarn in separate Ziploc plastic bags to minimize tangles.

If you want to take on a challenge, making the sweater for an adult shouldn’t take too much figuring. Maybe the blocks could be made bigger so you don’t have so many plastic bags.
